Inspiration
You’re my inspiration, my reason that these words
Come spilling out of me, a mess of thoughts unheard
A clutter of words I can never say quite right
A mixture of emotions coming alive

You’re my determination, my strength when I can’t find
Anything within myself and I just want to hide
Feelings of defeat until you come along,
Making everything right that once felt wrong

You’re my imagination, you help me to see
The beauty in the ordinary, doesn’t escape me
You do it without realizing, in your smile, your laugh
It’s beautiful to see nothing hold you back

You’re my consideration, my place to stop and calm my nerves
When I want to do something rash, and I’m on the verge
Your advice comes steady, honest and reassuring
It helps me think things through without me really knowing

You’re my dedication, something I never want to hurt
 You’re a promise I feel I’ve made, one I can’t desert
A constant in my life, the simplest thing to comprehend
Not worrying about waking up tomorrow, and watching it all end

You’re my inspiration, an idea in my mind
A feeling in my heart, a thought that never falls behind
A risk I’m willing to take, but the safest thing of all
The only one I’m sure, that wouldn’t let me fall
