A Distant Memory
Why couldn't I see
What you had been doing to me
I wanted to believe in everything you said
But it is all a dream,
Soon to become a distant memory
All hope gone,
Knowing you were wrong
The lies broke all the ties
Your pain blinded you into saying "I love you"
My hope reminded me I love you too
Now you can see
The deepest side of me
You cannot change the hope I let go of
I knew I loved you,
But it was only to become a distant memory
