A Girl Lost in a Song
I knew this girl not so long ago
she was proud, intelligent, and she ran her own show
she was never afraid to be herself
she always tried to help someone else

I knew this girl not so long ago
when ever she cried and wept like a child
there was always someone telling her to go another mile
but one day there was no one to push her along
and that day she attempted to write her own song

I knew this girl not so long ago
 first she failed miserably
but then she figured love was the key
she managed to write her own song
and the other girl she knew was long, long gone

I knew this girl not so long ago
 but she grew up
now I just to picture myself
 as I once was
and try to remember the girl
 lost in a song.
