In a brown bricked building
Across the sun splashed floor,
In a kindergarten classroom
Sketches plastered on the door.
Gadgets hanging from the ceiling
Banners layer painted walls,
Coloring at little tables
Across the distance, children’s calls.
Topple goes a crayon, flimsy as a twig
I go to reach it from the floor
My crush tramples on my pinky,
I don’t like him anymore.
