Into the light
That burns you like fire?
What sews your lips shut
My Kamikaze Girl?
Why do you silence your cries
Though you feel yourself dying inside?
What holds you together
Through all the hurt and betrayal?
Is it pride that keeps you quiet
My Kamikaze Girl?
Or fear of someone seeing you cry
That keeps you from crying out?
How can you be smiling

I can see it suffocating you
How can you still breathe
Even as you fade to grey
And chip away in the sun?
