Other Plans
The way you held me was irreplaceable
The way you loved was stable
The way you made me feel was indescribable
Cliché or not, it’s how it was
The little hallmark card was so us;
The happy little two-person family
Acting so serene and smiley.
Yet God, or cancer, had other plans
Either He, or the disease took you right out of my hands.
I’m not sure which one it was.
But I hope the powers above
Treat you right.
Because I still pray for you
Every night.
