They day he turned five
was the day you never called even to say hi
he was too young to realize the absence of your soul
he was too happy to stop and ask why you never showed
but i didnt forget
i held on to your promise
and not i hold you to the fire,
and ill never forget the face on my little boy
when i told him is father was never coming home.
