Viola Murray
One letter addressed to
Viola Murray
in my own mailbox.
She doesn’t live here any longer.
I believe she wears a purple hat
with purple hair and purple stockings
and paints beautiful purple mountains.
Ms. Murray collects stuffed cats
that she hangs on the walls of her apartment.
She keeps some
in the freezer.
Every morning she drinks her coffee cold
and bows to the TV
and dances naked in the front room near the street.
One letter addressed to
Viola Murray;
she doesn’t live here any longer.
