My Nike
Red Check
Torn and ripped, but still on my feet,
They provide me support and keep me upbeat.
Through dirt, muck, lightning and thunder,
This pair I will keep ‘til I am six feet under.
The red check and the gray lace,
Could take me anywhere, even to space.
You may see my sock and my toe sticking out,
But if you throw them away you will see me pout.
In khakis, swim shorts, or even some jeans,
I’ll sport my Nikes busted at the seams.
