Eighty-Eight Lights
Eighty-eight lights
a white silhouette.
Eighty-eight lights
emanating from a smog filled city
clean and pure.
Eighty-eight lights
what a pretty sight
those eighty-eight lights.
But eighty-eight lights
don't make up for all we've lost.
Eighty-eight lights
won't bring them back
Three thousand lives
gone in an instant.
Eighty-eight lights
are all that remain
of what was
and these eighty-eight lights
are just the beginning
of what will come to be.
