Glacier MAG
We buoy around in a fretless lull
among flakes of glacier dandruff
Salty lips lick
People lips lick
kissing through pained panes
And the sea gulls circle,
for circle they must;
triangling, squaring …
tide out
strung on red ripping threads
dangling, aft
Reaching in the wrong direction
With only wind beside them
I watch, curiously
Picturing my own red ripping life
knotted on the bow
unravelling in escape-driven leaving-attempts
They; them, behind
Gracefully wobbling
Drunk ballet dancers
With scarves on gullets
Binoculars on hearts
Spying through
magnification glasses in search
of ourselves
Bare, bare
Oh,
Oh
Oh, what can we do but seize the sights the sea we see permits us to
Oh, where can we look but to the heights the horizon holds up new
Alaska calls
and Alaska falls
and We People collapse behind it
