You punched a hole through my heart
Cut it to pieces along the dotted lines
Crumpled it into a neat white ball
Then tossed it in the wastebasket
2 points!
You can’t tape me back together again
Can’t staple the corners of our hearts
Together when the paper’s been torn
You can’t use whiteout over
Permanent Marker
How many times have I told you?
You can’t do math in pen;
It doesn’t erase,
And you might make a mistake.
