Looking for Poetry
Sitting in a closed room
Upright in a hard chair
Air still
Quiet
And the tree outside my window
Muffled by the glass
Just like a picture
Where’s the poetry here?
I’ll close my eyes then
Remember
Forgive me
If my letters run below the lines
A bird still
Muffled
Reaches my ear
I don’t need to record though
Camera lost
Or unnecessary anyway
Were I outside the window
Matterless
I could still write a poem
About your hair curled around my
fingers
