Eyes--
My eyes wander around
Always curious, forever wondering
What is this world? Why is it so
Beautiful and horrifying? How can
It possibly be both? Perhaps one cannot be
Without the other
My eyes begin to close
Giving in to sleep, need a rest from the day
Why must I sleep? How can I
Possibly succumb to exhaustion? Is it always
So powerful that it must take me away
Every night? Perhaps nothingness appears
For it is never appreciated
My eyes start into your soul
Seeing your secrets, finding your lies
What is it about you that’s so interesting? Do your eyes
See the same into mine? Why is it
Only you that I can see? Perhaps curiosity and wander
Led me to your eyes
