Consumed
Images sear into the back of my mind
Burning clear as the day they occurred
A living picture of a memory so haunting
Night consumes me
Tossing and turning
Unable to shake the images
From my body
I don’t dare shut my eyes
Into the back of my eyelids plays
The movie of my haunting memories
Neither can sleep escape it
Into my dreams they dive
My subconscious swimming
With those ever present memories
Only death can escape it
Only there might I find peace
Only then will you stop haunting me
