The Gifts
Given were gifts
Such as joy and despair
To be wind under wings
And through boundaries tear
To inspire and create
To be and ignite
The path is lit up
Though not always with light
The flow of emotions
In the sea of our world
Can push the ships of our dreams
With their bright sails unfurled
To capture these winds
One must open the mind
Make something from nothing
For there is nothing defined
We are ourselves
We create our own place
To be unhindered by others
By ignorance, by race
As we take hold of this moment
And shine forth as we are
We rush forth into promise
And WE decide how far
