Dodging pesky rocks
Cumbersome driftwood bobbing by
He is part of the canoe,
Feeling extremely secure

Anticipating the drop
Without a care in his world
Or a fear in his mind
He is free for the moment

Yet, SPLASH, he goes flying
Shooting out of the cocoon
And with a CONK of the head,
He dies…

His body bounces in the river
With his fellow driftwood he resides
He himself is an obstacle
Awaiting an unfortunate rafter

You are what you hate

It is a creepy poem of the justice you are dealt when you don't respect nature.
