Salt-Water Rain
Through salt water rain
I see your smiling face.
Through salt water rain
Us against time becomes a meaningless race.
Nothing can take away the pain.
Through treasures you live forever,
As they live the rest of your years.
Through memories we are together,
reliving all the birthday and holiday cheers,
When the days couldn’t get any better.
Looking across the table at Christmas
Is like looking across the open sea.
I look at your grave within the trees
And wonder if you’re looking down on me.
Are you proud of what you see?
If I could have three wishes to seek,
They would bring you back to me.
Before those last kisses upon my cheek,
The ones before you said good-bye you see.
Then the world wouldn’t seem so meek.
