If I Stay
There's no sense in pretending,
I'll be happy all through May.
For there are more storms to come,
The world still has a bag of wicked tricks to play.
So what does it matter,
If I stay?
Things come and go in the blink of an eye,
Like a chance for love,
Or a butterfly.
Things complicate,
People die.
And not a soul will notice a change.
So what does it matter,
If I stay?
Reasons to stay are slipping away,
So rip out my heart and remember me not.
I'm sick of giving it all that I got.
Everything I am has been buried alive.
I'm dying while I wait to die.
I can't escape the pains of yesterday.
So what does it matter anyway,
If I go, or if I stay?
