Heart Destroyed
I watch you from across the way
And begin to asphyxiate
As my heart folds in on itself
Deep, ripping pain erupts in my chest
Flooding my every thought, my every motion
It was bound and bound well
To happen
Remembering that stupid burgundy jacket
You always buried yourself up in
Allowing nothing to permeate
Your small and meager existence
To see glistening tears
Flowing fluidly down your face
In tiny rivulets
Would have been a sweet joy
Compared to what I've been witnessing
For three years
I'm not a heart broken
I'm a heart destroyed
