Something Dare
Forgotten lake paralyzed in solitude
Naked oak limbs scratch the quietude
Lonely blue heron stands among reeds
Watching
Waiting for the world to act first
Does it dare?
Wings rise and fall
Into the air, limbs beat laboriously
The air slow and heavy
Like cold honey
This king of creatures
This self proclaimed king
King of beauty
King of aged-autumn calm
Flying with grace unmatched
It lands on the other side of my forgotten lake
The world yawns
The water trembles
Oak limbs scratch the silence
The king stands amongst reeds
Watching
Waiting for the world to act first
Does it dare?
