I Love You Too
I was just two years old when you came into my life
Train up a child in the way he should go you lit up my path with neon lights
You spare the rods you spoil the child you made sure that i stayed in line
And if I wanted to joke around I had to do it on my own time
Even before you married my mom I accepted you as my daddy
But then I received some news that hurt me too badly
When I found out we didn't have the same blood I thought I was living a lie
Every part of my body just wanted to break down and cry
But all things work together for good to those who love the Lord
Having you as my father keeps me close to my sword
You always tell me what I need but never wanted to hear
Sometimes I didn't understand but after awhile it becomes clear
You always love me and have my best interest at heart
But every time we argue it's like we take one step farther apart
I remember at Promise Keepers you were crying and I was crying too
You held me close looked in my eyes and said son I love you
Well daddy I love you too
