Seventeen Years
I feel like a ticking time bomb
With so much time wasting away
Seventeen years isn’t so much
But to me it feels like yesterday
I was sitting on the playground
Alone and young
You came up and took my hand
And thus, my life begun
Now it is ten years later
And we have long since grown apart
Seventeen years isn’t so much
And yet I already feel old at heart
I feel like my life is ending
I treat every single new day
Like a gift from heaven
You never know when you’re going to fade away
Life is precious
And so are my dreams
I want to live the life
That flits across the silver screens
Of my mind
Seventeen years isn’t so much
And yet I feel like half my life has already gone by
