Breathe
Today is amazing.
Why? I cannot say.
Maybe it's the life I lead,
so minor in comparison,
to such wonders that are beheld,
by the masters of what they do.
But, it is that I have what I have,
that may make it wonderful.
Everything I'm given,
what is so vital to me,
may be little more than a sweet dream,
to one of lesser fortune.
Such things I find necessary
are so out of reach to others.
Maybe it's my sense of what is real
that drives me on,
that reminds me that everything around me,
everything I couldn't possibly control,
is not meant to destroy me,
but alert me of reality,
cause no matter how vividly I imagine better things,
my actions make it real.
Maybe, it's all things bright and beautiful.
Perhaps, what lies ahead doesn't matter,
what happened then,
memories,
what happens later,
to be experienced,
what happens now,
is what I live for.
Today is amazing.
Why?
Because I have my life
my spirit, my soul,
my voice, my air,
I have what I have,
because it was meant to be,
because I can breathe.
