The Tiny Tear
A tiny tear fell down my cheek
My heart was lost; I could not speak
But then, I saw a beam of joy
In the hazel eyes of a boy
His brawny hand softly touched mine
A precious moment so divine
Assuring that I was to win
A blessed chance to love again.
The tiny tear left quite a stain
An ageless memory of pain
Reminding me how much I’ve grown
Since those grief-ridden days alone
The hazel eyes beneath his brow
Taught me to grasp the here and now
For the beautiful bond we share
was worth the sorrow I had to bear.
The tiny tear is dry at last
A moment faded in the past
A remnant turned to black and white
Far from the future’s colors bright
My heart now beats, at last I’m found
And each morning, I awake quite proud
To know that wherever I begin to roam
His hazel eyes will welcome me home.
