Ode to the Night
I cede a brearth to the navy blue.
 To the moon, malevolent,
 Begging to swallow the earth
 In one all-encompassing whirlwind
Of leafy boughs and tender earth
To the ribbon in the sky
Left carelessly by a smooth metal machine
A lace veil for the orb in the blue.
To the stars, all vying to be
 The best and brightest
Looking pale next to that great
 Celestial centerpiece.
It wholly deserves all my sighs.
