The Theater
cat scratches dawn on curtains drawn
the stage lit up by breaking dawn
the audience breaks into applause
at the theater's final call
screaming, screaming, the crowd adore
screaming, screaming, encore encore
holding hands bow together
holding we hands fall together
like angels flying from puppet strings
they cut away our dreams
and all other things
and they'll cut our dresses from the seams
and we will dream no more
stage illuminated by light of moon
here the sound of laughter boom
and while the performer speaks his final line
the curtain falls a final time
