Reflection
Who is this girl I see looking back at me?
Is it safe to say that this girl is she?
A very unfamiliar face my eyes can see
I am not sure that this girl even looks like me
Tears rolling down her face, she is crying
She looks back at me, her soul slowly dying
Devastated and obviously depressed
It’s that low self-esteem that has her stressed
She’s top of her class, her academics up to par
Hey isn’t that the girl who wants to be a star?
As she pulls her hair back, away from her face
Her reality is there for her to embrace
I am trying to see clearly now
Who can it be?
The girl in the mirror looking back at me
O.M.G.!!!! I see, I see
The girl in the mirror looking back at me
Like many young girls with a story to tell
It’s very nice to meet you my name is Janelle
