Melancholy Madness
teetering on the edge of the world
wobbling – tumbling – fidgeting
unstable
i am tiresome, i am bruised
“wake up and take
your medicine. wake up.”
tomorrow?
i can’t make it to tomorrow
lethargic – apathetic – discontent
my body aches
the problems began
at puberty
young and suicidal
“wake up, wake up. swallow these pills.”
i rode on the second hand into another
dimension
i shook hands with death in
that field of dying corn
i used to know so well
remember the feel of cold wind on your face?
remember
the string?
“quit crying. wipe your damn eyes.”
exhaustion – paralysis
i blame you
laughing at me from inside the particles of a cloud
