They Have Always Seen Me
They have always seen me
As quiet and mean
With nothing much to say
Taking my life as a joke
But they don't know
That beneath all this hurt is a heart
Waiting to love
And prove that she is somebody
But they do know
What they think they know
About an insecure girl
Who won't let nobody help her
One day I will tell them
I will tell them all
I will shout to the whole wide world
I love you
I will uncover my scars and allow them to heal
I will make use of my true musical talent
I will be me, free
And the way you saw me then, will never be the same
