Sunlight filters through the primordial ooze,

the dinosaurs roam the Earth once more.

Slowly, but surely, the fossils take their revenge.

Slowly, they blanket and choke the life out of the planet.

The humans, unknowingly, are the resurrectors of these ancient monsters.

Never sated, their hunger summons more and more through the fires.

The trees attempt to fight back, absorbing the toxic fumes and locking the killer fossils within their bodies.

They are overrun, can no one stop the dinosaurs' horrendous rampage?

This disaster's reversal hangs solely as the dead albatross upon the necks of the resurrectors themselves.

This is a poem about the consequences of our continued dependence on fossil fuels.
