The Contender

Day by day, breezing by, living in the moment.
Not a care in the world.
Till one day he woke up and wanted to be someone,
someone special,
A champion,
A contender,
He trained and trained and worked real hard,
And almost gave in.
But he continued on and on,
He fought for his three in-a-row wins.
when everyone was looking down,
He held his chin up high.
And when his time came,
He retired.
Just to be a contender in life.
