Clear, hard, and cool
soundless to us
much activity on
the other side
Light flows through
rushing to get inside
full of action on the
other side, but
immensely quiet to us

On the other side
there is rustling,
waving, and swaying
millions of crisp
crunchy, and brittle
shapes
weightless all
they fall like birds
swoop down from the skies

I wrote this poem on a cool November morning while I was sitting at my window staring out at the colored leaves dropping to the ground before me.
