Value My Life
I lay down in darkness
As the moon beams above my head
The stars light the sky
Not a whisper is said
Feeling the cool sand in between my toes
Taking in the cool summer air
I breathe softly and slowly
I simply just lie there
The sounds of the ocean's waves crashing
Remind me of the home in which I was born
The one I am told stories about
At times I feel torn
Memories flood into my thoughts
As I watch my childhood with my mind's eye
I tie the knot between then and now
Then I'm glad I'm still alive
