Fearing the worst,
She dreads the unknown
Anxious for answers
Yearning.
She seeks solace in creation,
Finds freedom for a time
Until the raw emotions fade
To piercing solitude
Neither idle dreams
Nor silent prayers
Can soothe or subdue
The agony of patience
An eternity of waiting
Haunts her smile
Stoops her stance
And withers her hope
Until naught remains
But the broken shell
Where everlasting love
Still thrives
