Alive Again
As clouds cloak the sun
There is nothing left to blind me
And there are no stalking shadows
Only a cover of protection,
Water droplets falling down my face
For once they are not tears
The rain is kissing me
Washing away every single past fear
Cleansing my soul
Gifting a fresh start
I am reborn,
Lightning strikes
Igniting a fire deep within
I begin to see the light
First a glowing ember
Then a raging inferno,
Now feeling safe,
Renewed
And powered by desire
I have reason to face the world
