Walls
Look up and you see the ceiling.
Look down and you see the floor.
Look left, look right, look up, look down,
And there you will find a wall.
These walls are no-colored,
Yet all-colored at once.
These walls are plain and still,
Yet extravagant majesty.
Through the eyes of the captive,
Though the feet of the caught,
Though the soul, the mouth, the eyes, the feet,
The prisoner will notice his box.
Punch the wall and kick with all might,
Only bruises and cuts ensue.
Gently brush the wall and touch with care,
Only now the walls expand.
What of these walls?
What of this box?
Stop.
What is that sound?
What is that voice?
Another person on the other side!
So you really aren’t alone.
Another being of different substance,
So joyous, and your worlds collide.
Look up and you see the ceiling.
Look down and you see the floor.
Look left, look right, look up, look down,
And there you will find a wall.
