Sunlight
The warm sun washes over
 My pale, freckled skin
 Like waves towering over
 The grainy, speckled shoreline.
 The heat licks my face
 And crawls up my legs,
 Pinching my cheeks
 And tugging my hand,
 Anxious for me to follow.

In the light, I see the truth
 Revealing reality
 The sun unmasks the world
 Leaving its naked exposure
 Unveiling the innocent
 While marking the condemned
 With shadow-tattooes
 To paint their guilt.

 Birds chirp
 And the wind sings
 Flowers sway to
 The song of nature
 The trees bow down
 To the waltzing grass
As it whispers to the moon
And tells secrets to the sky
 Who laughs with the Heavens
 And serenades the stars.

 Then:
 Silence.
 What does the sun sing
 That we cannot hear?
 Or simply choose
 To ignore...?

 In the light I feel
 Safe and secure
 A strong arm around
 My trembling shoulders.

Like a blanket wrapped around you tight
 Or a child in a mother's arms
Like the gentle whisper of the night
 The serene sunlight
 Holds you close.

 Peaceful
 Peaceful
 Peaceful
