The Little Space Boy
He put on his helmet, ready to go
And took off in a rocket, and he saw the world below
“What a beautiful place from far away,”
he thought, “But is it up close? Ha, no way.”
And he stayed in his rocket for quite some time.
Jammed to The Beatles and a little Sublime.
“Maybe I should go back…” said he.
“I miss the earth. I miss the trees.”
But alas, his rocket had taken him much too far
No idea how to return, he was stuck among stars.
He cried and cried, “Earth wasn’t so bad!
The bad times were worth all the good times I had!”
“I can travel all I want, I’ve enough fuel on hand,
But I want to get down to the ground if I can.
It’s pretty up here, but what I wouldn’t give
To stop floating around and to actually live.”
The poor little space boy is still stuck up there
Who knows what he’s doing, and who knows where.
He looks at the planets, wishing for before
While we look at stars and only wish for more.
