Quiet Words
Quiet words from a quiet soul
They escape, restless, little
Longing for a bed, they float
But settle quietly, scattered on the floor
They join millions of other pieces
That were also doomed to die.
Without an ear - a heart - to rest in
They have gone unnoticed.
Invisible to the eyes, presence unknown
The words silently eat away the floors
And everything falls, everything goes
With those little words that could have been more.
