Two Red Balloons
The man is pleased
his smile--
getting bigger
two red balloons
clasped--
in his hands.
the children so excited
for it has been too long
they've missed him so much
finally--
he's home.
looseining his grip
the balloons drift upward
higher and higher and higher they go.
invisible air drifts
trapped--
inside them
longing to get out
so jealous it has become.
what a boring life its lived
locked up and alone
until
POP
its gone
nothing lasts forever.
