Strands
Oh how soon will we need air?
The night has been wrapped around us.
The birds have long since quieted.
The wind flutters.
Strands of hair slip silently across my face.
Strands of joyous tears hold them where they lay.
Strands of peace ensue.
I need to know.
I have to know.
I already know...
But for now,
With you here…
I may never have to come up for air.
