Scarlet Letters
Red is the ink used to pen this piece, yet
Ordinary black sleeps in the drawer
Awaiting its usual rise to glory.
Is this brilliant scarlet just too hopelessly red?
Boils hemorrhage within my soul
Leaving its scars and infection.
The vile pus of pain
Leaks from the wound as
Sorrow unforgivingly pulsates.
No. Red is good.
