More Than This
Believe in a world more than this,
Though clouded eyes and deafened ears,
See what is lost what’s become forsaken,
In favor of the bold, the cold, the tears,
People are dying,
Land disappears,
Yet in lucent tones it whispers,
Chastising the unease, the quarrels, the fears
The stupidity to which this world adheres.
What is earthly and powerful warns of conceit,
Beckons us home when we face fates mirrors,
Foolish are they who heed not its beat,
They sully the worth of life thenceforth,
Listen, I say to the heart beneath your feet,
It is lost evermore,
Never in sync with yours.
