Free to Be
I am a manta ray, powerful double-strokes propelling me…
I am a canoe, swift and fast down the river,
I am a paddleboat, merrily bobbing on a sunny day,
And I am the shark, fins piercing the water…
In the depths,
The blue timeless depths,
I take whatever shape I choose,
Free to be,
Anything except what I am on land.
My heart beats out the rhythm of my strokes,
I imagine as bubbles froth in the crystalline water,
And I am free to be,
Anything except what I am on land.
