Be Gone, Be Gone
Be gone
Be gone
My personal thoughts,
My secret dreams,
Spread out
On a dusty computer screen,
My heart
Neatly typed out
In carefully chosen words.
It’s a little too dangerous
Don’t you think?
To expose the truth
When it might not be
What everyone else wants to hear?
I debate between
The “Enter” and “Delete” key.
My finger clicks
The safest bet.
The same keyboard,
In which fitted my feelings
Into meaningful words,
Deletes my thoughts
One row at a time,
And slowly but surely
The whole poem is gone.
Be gone
Be gone
My precious poem.
For you could not survive
Through a stranger’s eyes.
