Afraid
I am afraid.
Terrified of myself.
I've cried wolf so many times
I don't know what the truth is.
It's like I'm floating along this long rusty chain of lies
That could break at any moment if I slip just once.
Not like I could do harm to my body physically,
But mentally...
You can't see the bruises on my sole
Because I won't let you rip through my heart
I might look tough on the outside
Only because what's on the inside is indescribable.
Letting you in is somewhere no one has ever been
Because they can't see that I live in fear.
That's how good I have learned to fake the truth.
