Almost Suicide
The normal smile in his eyes
Has turned to pale gray
He sits in the corner
And there he will stay
The lights are turned off
The only noise that he hears
Is his sister, singing along to her radio
He locks the door
And feels for the gun
He hopes she won’t hear it
The cold metal to his temple
He starts to cry
He’ll miss them so much
But he just wants to die
He wishes everything could be okay again
As he shoots up a prayer
With the gun to his head
He pulls the trigger
But no noise is heard
No bullet enters
There’s something standing above him
As he lays on the floor
He thinks he’s an angel
And he’s almost right
His sister is there
With a cross in her hand
There’s something beside her
The source of the light
I guess He just couldn’t let his son die
