Letting Go
When the balloons flew,
it was like letting go of him.
When the balloons flew,
it was like us telling him that he needed to go to
the Lord Jesus.
When the balloons flew,
it was like him telling us we needed to let go and
let him fly away.
When the balloons flew,
it was like us showing him we would be ok.
When the balloons flew,
the relief I had been searching for for days
finally arrived.
When the balloons flew,
I felt the never-absent hurt fly also.
When the balloons flew,
I felt like it was ok to let go,
as long as I remembered.
When the balloons flew,
I knew that it was ok to cry and look for him,
like he was still here,
but knowing on the inside that he would never come back.
When the balloons flew.
