What if...
What if the world we knew,
grew up in, lived in,
all about you,
was but a dream?
It was all a whisper
in the night sky.
the howl in the wind,
a whispered lie?
What if we lived in a dream,
and felt,
the subtle strings
fade away.
What would you do?
What would you say?
And when we rested our heads,
and dreamed a dream,
of randomness and wonders,
and being free.
What if what we saw,
in a slumber.
was but real life,
that we saw nothing of somber.
What if real life,
was a mixture of dreams.
Of princes and ghosts,
of sanity and strings?
What if life
was but a mirage.
And when we died
to the blade of a knife,
We fell into slumber,
but was true life.
While your cadaver lay in slumber,
your mind wandered.
But...
What if I lie,
and I never knew?
I made you believe,
in but a crazy dream.
Who knows?
Who cares?
In what I believe in,
sleep is a nightmare
of dreams and love,
fright and fear.
Was but real life,
and you lay down here.
So go to sleep,
my children of dreams.
And hopefully you'll see,
yourself break free.
Let your mind wander,
and relax with others.
For you may live,
in nothing but a dream.
